Coup de Coeur

I had a wonderful vacation in France ! May-June is the perfect time to visit the South of France. Flowers are in full bloom, the sun is out with a warm glow, local fruits and vegetables are crowding the store shelves and open markets. And art shows are starting to duplicate for the early tourists.

It is during one of those small art shows that I discovered an artist whose work I absolutely love. She is a full artist tackling multiple media, including painting, and ceramic and bronze sculptures. I was particularly awestruck by her line of women figurines. The elegance and simplicity of the form, the nonchalance in the pose, the attention to small details that bring the figure to life, it all comes together in expressing a very simple act (reading, bathing, posing), each with a distinct personality. Veronique has found a style of her own that is worth checking out. Visit her website, didierlaurentveronique.com, and prepare to be amazed. Yes, it is in French, but the pictures do all the talking.
